BASEBALL CAREER WEEK
PHOENIX, AZ - MARCH 11-15, 2019
Welcome to the business of baseball
Developed for students and career-seekers interested in pursuing a career in professional baseball, the Business of Baseball is an exclusive career and networking event held every March during Spring Training in Phoenix, Arizona. The 6-day schedule will take participants across the Cactus League for private meetings and exclusive experiences with MLB teams and executives, skills developments sessions, behind-the-scenes tours and networking opportunities.
What's included in the program?
Are you looking to work in professional baseball?
Working for the home team sounds great. It would also be great to work for the league leaders and championships contenders. But, before you can target a team, you have to determine what your ideal job is? What department do you want to work in or what roles would you like to perform for an organization? Do you want to work at the stadium or do you want to work in the office? There are hundreds of career opportunities in professional baseball and participating in Baseball Career Week will introduce you to different teams and departments, providing both the context and contacts required to succeed with your goals.
Do you have a game plan?
How are you going to get your first job? There are thousands of graduating students and career-seekers across the country who are looking to work in baseball and you need to find a way to stand out from the rest of the pack. What do you bring to the table? If you are not creating unique content, volunteering at events, or meeting the right people, what have you done to help your personal brand succeed? Participating in Baseball Career Week shows a commitment to your craft and completion of the program will allow you to make both the personal and professional connections you will need to get your first job and also grow your career within the industry.
Who do you know who can help you navigate the career landscape?
Networking is perhaps the most essential component for career success...and often the most overlooked. Indeed, accomplishment is often determined by who you know and not what you know. Who is going to help you find your first job? Who do you know who can open doors for you? Are you any different than the students sitting in class with you? Or, those job hunters across the country applying for similar jobs? Your degree may not be credential enough for you to get your foot in the door. During Baseball Career Week in Arizona, you will interact privately with front office leaders, industry decision makers, and hiring managers. Get ahead and stay ahead in the race for your dream job.
